15 minutes of fame

Nasi Ayam Satu. One Plate Chicken Rice. Kai Fan Yat Tip. Yes, yes...the guy ordering the Chicken Rice in the new KFC ad on TV is me. UGWUG and Teckiee both recommended that I post a copy of the ad on You Tube and put it on my blog. Sad to say, I don't have a digital copy of the ad on me. My apologies to readers from Abu Dhabi, California and Japan. I also did not get a year's free supply of KFC. Neither did I get tons of KFC Vouchers. My sis (the joker) even asked me to go to KFC with her and try to order a plate of Chicken Rice, just to see how the waiters would react. Sheesh... I'm also featured in a Sony Advertorial in this month's edition of My Home. My Home's tagline is Interiors and Ideas. It's basically a Chinese magazine chocked full with Interior Decoration ideas for home-owner's. At RM 10 a pop, it's a steal! No Licia, I did not get a free copy. I had to get my own copy as well. My tango with the advertising industry did not end there. I was also involved in a commercial for a leading baby dairy product. No, I was not in the ad this time round, but I was the translator on the set for the "Talent"; a cute Thai/British baby named Daniel. Call it on the job training ;) I learned so much on how to bring up a baby while being a translator on the set. From sterilising milk bottles to preparing milk formula. From changing his clothes to testing the temperature of his milk. Hehehe...I must say it was really fun. Plus, Daniel is a real gem to work with =)I definitely won't quit my day job to go into advertising full-time. It's got very long hours and pretty hard work. Thankfully, the crew I was working with on all 3 sets were for the better part very helpful and friendly. Now that I have stoked my ego, I look forward to getting my career back on track next week.
